Pakistan have made as many as five changes to their ODI Squad which will play against Australia in a 3-match series starting this month end in the UAE. Younis Khan, who struggled to get going in the ODI Series in Sri Lanka has been axed while fast bowler Umar Gul surprisingly has been omitted. The Selectors have mentioned that both these players were struggling and needed to be dropped to take a break.
Kamran Akmal makes his comeback in the Pakistan national team after some gap. The Wicket Keeper batsman, who had been picked in the World T20 Squad comes in for Sarfraz Ahmed. Mohammad Sami and Rahat Ali are the other exclusions from the Pakistani ODI Squad.
Making it to the ODI Squad are the impressive left-arm quick Junaid Khan, 24-year-old pacer Anwar Ali (who has played a lone T20I in 2008), former Captain Shoaib Malik and opener Nasir Jamshed (who comes back after a finger injury).
The ODI Series against Australia will begin from the 28th of this month. The first and the third ODIs will be played at Sharjah on August 28th and September 3rd while the second ODI is to be played at Abu Dhabi on August 31st.
Pakistan had already named their squad for the 3-T20I Series against Australia which will be same as the one announced for the ICC World Twenty20 2012.
