The somewhat controversial tenure of the BCCI senior selection committee led by MSK Prasad has come to an end, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly confirmed on Sunday. An amendment in the BCCI constitution does allow for a maximum term of five years for a selection committee. However, BCCI has decided not to extend the tenure of the present team.
Veteran Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has sought a change in the Indian selection panel, and has tweeted requesting BCCI President Sourav Ganguly to do so. Harbhajan wrote so in reference to Sanju Samson being dropped from the T20I squad for the West Indies series without being given a chance to prove his worth against Bangladesh.
Former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly is all set to be take over as the next president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), as per latest media reports. Earlier, Brijesh Patel looked set to take over the top post. However, many in BCCI are said to have backed Ganguly, and thus the contest turned.
