Former all-rounder Abdul Razzaq is the latest Pakistani to claim that India deliberately lost to England in the 2019 World Cup league game, to hurt Pakistan’s chances of qualifying. Razzaq’s comments have come a couple of days after ex-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed alleged that West Indies players told him that India lost the match to stop Pakistan from reaching the knockout stages. The comments from the ex-Pakistani players have come despite Ben Stokes clarifying that he never claimed India deliberately lost the game
Seasoned all-rounder Abdul Razzaq on Saturday said his participation in the Champions League Twenty20 tournament in India as the first step towards Pakistani players eventually taking part in the Indian Premier League.
Abdul Razzaq, who will be the only Pakistan player to participate in this year's Champions League Twenty20 in India, has said he hopes cricketing relations between India and Pakistan improve, with matches between the two countries resuming and Pakistan players being included in the IPL. Razzaq will play for Leicestershire in the Champions League, and will be only the second Pakistan player to play in the tournament - Yasir Araft played for Sussex in the first tournament in 2009.
