Pakistan managed to win their Group A match against Canada despite being bowled out for just 184. Captain Shahid Afridi with his quick leg breaks captured five wickets giving away just 23 runs in his 10 overs to bowl his side to a 46-run win at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Canada's batting wasn't good enough to handle the Pakistani bowling and they folded to 138 in 42.5 overs.
In the afternoon, Canada did a superb job with the ball to bowl out Pakistan in 43 overs. Harvir Baidwan picked up three wickets while Rizwan Cheema, Balaji Rao and Jimmy Hansara took two wickets each. The top scorer of the match was Umar Akmal who made 48 from 64 balls while putting up a crucial stand of 73 with Misbah-ul-Haq to rescue Pakistan from a shaky 67 for 4.
This is now Pakistan's third straight win of this tournament! Their Skipper Shahid Afridi got the Man of the Match for his bowling heroics.
