ICC Anti-Corruption Officer grills Nupur Mehta on Spot Fixing Allegations

Although the ICC had swept the ‘Sunday Times’ story on Spot-fixing under the carpet, one of its officials was seen meeting one of the accused in the episode – Nupur Mehta in a Mumbai hotel yesterday. Nupur Mehta, who was allegedly used to honey trap international cricketers according to the Sunday Times was questioned by an ICC anti-corruption officer Alan Peacock.

Although the ICC had swept the ‘Sunday Times’ story on Spot-fixing under the carpet, one of its officials was seen meeting one of the accused in the episode – Nupur Mehta in a Mumbai hotel yesterday. Nupur Mehta, who was allegedly used to honey trap international cricketers according to the Sunday Times was questioned by an ICC anti-corruption officer Alan Peacock.

Nupur MehtaNupur Mehta, a little known actress in Bollywood has confirmed that she was quizzed by the official for two and a half hours. She says that the Officer was fully convinced that although she has contacts with some of the cricketers, she isn’t involved in any fixing attempts.

One of the cricketers with whom Nupur Mehta is known to be friendly is none other than the former Sri Lankan Captain Tillakaratne Dilshan. Nupur had also taken the names of Yuvraj Singh, Parthiv Patel and Ishant Sharma who she says are friends while claiming before that she had dated Tillakaratne Dilshan. Nupur Mehta has so far done only one film – Jo Bole So Nihal.
