Bangladesh had their perfect Asia Cup revenge as they demolished Afghanistan by 9 wickets with 8 overs to spare in the Group A Qualifying match at Mirpur.

Bangladesh had their perfect Asia Cup revenge as they demolished Afghanistan by 9 wickets with 8 overs to spare in the Group A Qualifying match of the ICC World T20 2014 at Mirpur.

Afghanistan asked to bat first after losing the toss were skittled out for a humiliating 72 all out in 17.1 overs. The Afghans lost a wicket in the very first ball of the match and also the tournament. Shakib Al Hasan troubled the Afghans with his left-arm spin which resulted in figures of 3 for 8 in 3.1 overs.

Another left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak took two wickets while off-spinner Mahmudullah bowled his 4 overs for just 8 runs besides a wicket. The top score in the Afghanistan team was just 21 which came from no.3 Gulbadin Naib.

Bangladesh got the runs with utmost ease in 12 overs losing Tamim Iqbal (21). Anamul Haque finished the chase with 44 not out from 33 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Shakib Al Hasan was the Man of the Match.
