Hosts Chennai Super Kings eased to a huge 9-wicket win as they chased the low target of 115 in just 15.2 overs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Delhi Daredevils were never in the contest after posting just 114 runs on the board. The opening stand from CSK itself sealed the game in 10.1 overs with a score of 75 for 1.
Michael Hussey was the only casualty for CSK but not before the left hander had helped himself to 38 from 32 balls with 5 fours and a six. The match was wrapped up by an unbeaten stand of 40 between Murali Vijay (48* from 40 balls with 5 fours and a six) and Suresh Raina (28* from 20 balls with a four and 2 sixes).
The architect of this easy win for CSK was undoubtedly Ben Hilfehnaus as he unleashed significant damage to the Daredevils’ batting taking three top order wickets.
Chennai Super Kings with this victory have moved into the fourth position with 15 points. The trouble for them is that RCB has the same number of points despite playing a match lesser than CSK till date. Delhi Daredevils on the other hand have lost only their fourth match in 13 games and they still are at the table top followed up by Kolkata Knight Riders.
