Full list of players retained by eight franchises ahead of IPL 2022 auction

The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises have announced the players they have retained ahead of the mega auction, which is likely to take place in January next year. Tuesday was the deadline for the eight existing franchises to name the list of players they have retained. From December 1 to December 25, the two new franchises - Ahmedabad and Lucknow - can pick three players ahead of the mega auction.

A total of 27 players were retained by the eight franchises. Here is the complete list:

Mumbai Indians: Rohit Sharma (16 crore), Jasprit Bumrah (12 crore), Suryakumar Yadav (8 crore), Kieron Pollard (6 crore)

Chennai Super Kings: Ravindra Jadeja (16 crore), MS Dhoni (12 crore), Ruturaj Gaikwad (8 crore), Moeen Ali (6 crore)

Delhi Capitals: Rishabh Pant (16 crore), Axar Patel (9 crore), Prithvi Shaw (7.5 crore), Anrich Nortje (6.5 crore)

Kolkata Knight Riders: Andre Russell (12 crore), Varun Chakaravarthy (8 crore), Venkatesh Iyer (8 crore), Sunil Narine (6 crore)

Rajasthan Royals: Sanju Samson (14 crore), Jos Buttler (10 crore) , Yashasvi Jaiswal (4 crore)

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Virat Kohli (15 crore), Glenn Maxwell (11 crore), Mohammed Siraj (7 crore)

Sunrisers Hyderabad: Kane Williamson (14 crore), Abdul Samad (4 crore), Umran Malik (4 crore)

Punjab Kings: Mayank Agarwal (14 crore), Arshdeep Singh (4 crore)

Among the big names released are David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal and Rashid Khan. Here is a list of prominent names released from each franchise:
