The Indian team to play in the Asia Cup 2012 in Bangladesh will be announced today

The Indian Squad for next month’s Asia Cup in Bangladesh will be announced today instead of tomorrow according to a BCCI media release. The National Selectors will meet today at the Cricket Centre in Mumbai to come up with the Asia Cup Squad. India are likely to drop both Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar for the tournament. Senior pacer Zaheer Khan could be rested because of a calf muscle injury. Another bowler R Vinay Kumar who is having a hamstring injury could also miss out from the selection.

India may also select Bengal’s Wriddhiman Saha in the place of Parthiv Patel as the second wicket keeper. In the bowling department, Varun Aaron could be brought back into the side after his injury.
