Minnows Zimbabwe pulled off a narrow 24-run victory at Harare in the Second and Final Test against Pakistan. The hosts wrapped up the game about 30 minutes after the lunch break with pace bowler Tendai Chatara bowling them to a historic win with a maiden five-wicket haul. The 2-match Test Series is drawn 1-1 with this memorable win from the underdogs.

Pakistan’s Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, batted superbly to keep his team alive in the contest, but eventually ran out of partners. Misbah was stranded on an unbeaten 79 which gave Pakistan every chance of pulling off a miraculous victory.

Tendai Chatara was magical with his bowling, getting the ball to cut back off the crack to get Adnan Akmal and Saeed Ajmal lbw. Tinashe Panyangara produced a beautiful away swinger to have Abdur Rehman caught behind. Just when the match seemed to be slipping away after lunch, Chatara produced a timely wicket of Junaid Khan.

Pakistan panicked while Zimbabwe held their nerve to run out Rahat Ali to leave Misbah-ul-Haq helpless at one end. The visitors were bowled out for 239 in 81 overs. Chatara wrecked them apart with his 5 for 61. The last time, Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan in a Test match was way back in 1998. Overall, this is only the 12th Test win for Zimbabwe in the history of this sport.
