India number three Cheteshwar Pujara has backed Ravichandran Ashwin, saying that India’s lead off spinner will improve his record in Australia having made changes in his bowling.

Ashwin averages a poor 54.71 from six Tests in Australia. His overall record is 336 wickets at just over 25.

Speaking to the press according to AP, Pujara said, “If you see his recent bowling, I think he has made a lot of changes. I can’t describe what it is, not in front of the media. But he has made some adjustments which has helped him.”

Further, backing Ashwin the batsman said, “He has played enough cricket in England which is obviously different conditions, not much help for the spinner. So I think when he’s playing in Australia, he knows what he has to do.”

Pujara also added that the team has got desired practice in the warm-up game and is ready for the Test challenge. The first Test begins at Adelaide on December 6.
