India defeated South Africa yesterday by 1 run. Despite winning four out of five matches, India was out of the tournament because of lower net run rate. Indian Skipper MS Dhoni admitted that 121 was too low a total to defend for the Indian bowlers against the Proteas. The Men in Blue had to win yesterday’s match by atleast 31 runs to make it to the Semi Finals ahead of Pakistan who crushed Australia by a big margin. Pakistan’s big margin of win made matters difficult for India who could only post a total of 150 after being asked to bat first by AB de Villiers. Yet another bad start from the likes of Sehwag and Gambhir meant that India was not well set to put up a total of 180 which would have helped them reach the Semis.
