Pakistan beat Sri Lanka 3-2 in the recently concluded one-day series. Here’s a look at the top performers with both bat and ball in the series.

Mohammad Hafeez: The veteran batsman had an excellent series with the bat, and was good with the ball as well, until he was barred from bowling. In five matches, he scored 273 runs at an average of 54.6 with one hundred and two fifties at a strike rate of 91.3. He had a highest of 103 in the series. He bowled in only two matches during the series, but still finished as the joint second-highest wicket-taker with six wickets. He averaged 17 with a best of 4 for 41, an economy rate of 5.1, and a strike rate of 20.

Kusal Perera: He was the only successful batsman as far as Sri Lanka was concerned. In five matches, he scored 230 runs at an average of 46 with one hundred and one fifty, and a strike rate of 121.7. He had a big hand in both of Lanka’s wins. He equalled the record for the fastest fifty by a Sri Lankan, and made a hundred in the last game. Sri Lanka should be pleased with his effort.

Azhar Ali: The Pakistan captain scored 217 runs in the series at an average of 43.4. Although he was managed only one fifty in the series, he was consistency personified throughout, with a highest of 79 and a strike rate of 82.82.

Ahmed Shehzad: The other Pakistan opener scored 216 runs at an average of 43.2 with one fifty, and a strike rate of 86.4. Like Azhar, he too did not convert many starts, but was consistent with a best of 95.

Rahat Ali: He was the series’ leading wicket-taker with nine wickets from five games. He averaged 29.4 with a best of 3 for 73, an economy rate of 6.43 and an impressive strike rate of 27.4.

Anwar Ali: Pakistan’s bowlers clearly outshone Sri Lanka in the series. In five matches, he took six wickets at an average of 34.5, an economy rate of 5.9 and a best of 2 for 24. Ali finished with a strike rate of 35.

Yasir Shah: After the brilliant Test series, the leggie had a mixed time in the one-dayers. He claimed six wickets at a poor average of 41.5, an economy rate of 5.18 and a best of 4 for 29. Yasir’s strike rate could have been much better than the 48 he finished up with.
