The fifth ODI between India and Australia at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack has been cancelled as expected due to unfit ground conditions. It turned out to be a sunny morning on the match day but the damage done by five days of rains was irreparable. While the players of both the teams were stationed at Bhubaneshwar, it was just the Umpires and the Match Referee visiting the venue the call off the game more than two hours before the scheduled start in the afternoon.
Two matches in a row have been abandoned in this 7-ODI Series between India and Australia. The action now shifts to Nagpur where the 6th ODI will be played on the 30th.
