A sensational cameo of 47* from just 17 balls from AB de Villiers dashed the hopes of a third win for Deccan Chargers. Hosts RCB thanks to de Villiers’ blazing cameo that contained 5 fours and 3 sixes defeated DC by 5 wickets with seven balls to spare in a run chase of 182.
AB de Villiers found superb support from Mayank Agarwal who smashed 18 from 6 balls with a four and 2 sixes. The match was very much in DC’s control with RCB needing as many as 52 runs from just four overs! Another hero of the run chase for RCB was Tillakaratne Dilshan with his 71 (from 54 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes).
Early on, Deccan Chargers posted a high total of 181 for 2 with the in-form Shikhar Dhawan scoring 73 from 52 balls with 10 fours and a six. Opener Daniel Harris with 47 (from 41 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes) and Cameron White with 45 (from 24 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes) also got amongst the runs.
