England rest Graeme Swann for remainder of ODI Series against South Africa

England have decided to rest their premium spinner Graeme Swann for the remaining three ODIs against South Africa. Swann of late has been having a troubled elbow in his right arm which might need surgery sometime perhaps after the World Twenty20.

England have decided to rest their premium spinner Graeme Swann for the remaining three ODIs against South Africa. Swann of late has been having a troubled elbow in his right arm which might need surgery sometime perhaps after the World Twenty20.

Replacing Swann is Kent’s James Tredwell, the 30-year-old who has played a lone Test and 6 ODIs before.

The ECB while resting Swann ahead of the World Twenty20 has announced that the off-spinner will be back to play the 3-T20I Series against the Proteas.

Graeme SwannThe third ODI between England and South Africa will be played tomorrow at The Oval. The hosts are trailing 0-1 in the 5-match series with the first ODI at Cardiff washed out followed by a crushing victory by the Proteas in the Second ODI at Southampton.
