The second Test match between West Indies and Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, clearly headed towards a draw when no play was possible in the first two sessions of the fourth day.

Bad light had stopped play yesterday when West Indies were struggling at 165/5, just after losing two wickets in one Dilshan over. Any hopes of Sri Lanka getting some early breakthroughs in the morning were dampened by the persistant rain.

With just four more sessions left in the match, the chances of a result are very slim. A possibility of a result in the match will brighten if the Windies follow on, but that should not be the case as they are only 23 runs short of the follow on target.

The first match of the series had also ended in a draw, which means the third and final test at Pallekele would be a series decider.

West Indies would be happy with a drawn series, but a win for them would definitely boost their confidence. However, it would be a concern for the Lankans who have failed to get all ten West Indian wickets in any of the three innings of the series, while the Windies have managed it atleast once.
