England batsmen disappoint but bowlers click in First Warm-Up at Dubai

News Update of ICC Combined Associate and Affiliate XI Vs England XI at ICC Global Cricket Academy, Dubai

It was a poor show from the English batsmen at the ICC Golbal Cricket Academy at Dubai in the 3-day warm-up match against an ICC Associate and Affiliate XI. Only Alastair Cook managed to score a half century in England’s modest total of 185 for 8 declared in 55 overs. The left-handed Cook scored 76 from 121 balls with 14 fours while none of the other batsmen even managed to score more than 20!

England bowlers showed good form compared to their batsmen as they bowled out the Associate XI team for 281 on the first day and then had them in trouble at 90 for 5 on Day 2 in their second innings. Craig Viljoen of Namibia was the top scorer for the ICC team making an impressive 98 while Wicket Keeper Mohammad Shahzad from Afghanistan scored 51 from just 58 balls.

Stuart Broad is doing well for England so far taking 4 for 46 on the first day and then following it up with 2 for 15 in the second innings.Anderson has taken two wickets each so far in the 3-day match.
