Lendl Simmons smashed 122 off 124 balls for his first century in international cricket to guide West Indies to victory by 40 runs in the first ODI against Bangladesh on Thursday.
In pursuit of West Indies 298-4, Bangladesh could only reach 258-7 in their 50 overs.
Shakib Al Hasan hit an unbeaten 67 off 58 balls but it was in vain as Ravi Rampaul, Marlon Samuels and Andre Russell each took two wickets for West Indies.
Earlier, Simmons struck eight fours and two sixes before being caught by AlokKapali off medium-pacer RubelHossain. The opener was involved in a 150-run stand with Samuels (71) as the visitors piled on the runs after being put in to bat.
West Indies lead three-match series 1-0.
