Indian spinners sparked an England collapse after skipper MS Dhoni's fireworks with the bat to hand the visitors a 5-0 bashing by winning the fifth ODI by 95 runs here at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday.

After Varun Aaron broke the 129-run opening stand between Craig Kieswetter (63) and skipper Alastair Cook (60), India's spin attack of RavindraJadeja, R Ashwin, Suresh Raina and ManojTiwary took nine wickets between them to dismiss the visitors for 176. Of these, Jadeja was the most successful bowler with a spell of 4/33.

England cruising at 129 for 0, but Cook's dismissal by Aaron really turned the match. From there, they collapsed to 176 all out, the spinners claiming nine of the wickets to fall. Jadeja and Ashwin, as they have done all series. England lose 10 wickets in 50 runs.

India at 80/0 after 17 overs. Suddenly, 3 wickets fell without any addition to the total and India looked lost at 80/3. Dhoni was the man for the occasion though. How does he manage to keep such a calm head, one will never know. He looked to be struggling at one point with 23 off 45 balls, but he changed gears as the overs began to run out to add another 52 runs of the next 24 balls to lead the late charge. India have ended up with a mighty fine score on the board on a pitch which seems to be 2-paced. Finn bowled superbly for his 2/47 and was unlucky not to get more.

India reach 271 for 8 courtesy of a superbly-paced knock from their captain, MS Dhoni. He started slowly but took full control at the death, accelerating to an unbeaten 69-ball 75 and setting a new Indian record for an unbeaten run in ODIs.

After a solid opening stand, Dhoni had helped to steady the middle overs with Suresh Raina, and also found able partners in Jadeja and Praveen Kumar, whose cameos helped to boost the total. England have quite a task ahead of them if they are to avoid a clean sweep.

Steven Finn continued his impressive personal performance in an otherwise abject England campaign, as India lost three wickets for no runs in the space of ten deliveries to squander a flying start in the fifth and final ODI at Kolkata. Nevertheless, in yet another scrappy fielding display, Finn's figures could have been even more impressive, as Graeme Swann at second slip dropped a routine chance off Suresh Raina when he had made just one run from eight deliveries.

India, meanwhile, will be looking to hand the visitors their 2nd successive whitewash on tour in India, having hammered England 5-0 during the 2008 tour as well.

India have made only one change, with Parthiv Patel being replaced by ManojTiwary. After picking up three wickets on debut in the last match, fast bowler Varun Aaron gets another chance in this game.

Eden Gardens in Kolkata had been the intended venue of England's World Cup fixture against India back in March, which eventually finished as a tie in Bangalore. Instead, this will be their first match at one of the grandest venues in the game since the 2001-02 series, when India won by 22 runs in spite of a brilliant hundred from Marcus Trescothick.
