Chennai Super Kings defeated Warriors in the Final at Johannesburg to lift the Champions League T20 2010 in South Africa.

Chennai Super Kings defeated Warriors in the Final at Johannesburg to lift the Champions League T20 2010 in South Africa. It was a cakewalk victory for CSK once they had restricted Warriors to a below par total of 128 for 7! They won the match by 8 wickets with an over to spare thanks to a solid 103-run opening stand between Murali Vijay (58 from 53 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes) and Michael Hussey (51* from 46 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes). The match was fittingly finished by the CSK Skipper MS Dhoni who scored an unbeaten 17 from 12 balls with 2 fours and a six.

Warriors batting first after winning the toss were going all guns blazing until they lost their Skipper Davey Jacobs (34 from 21 balls with 8 fours) off to a high risk reverse sweep off Ashwin in the 6th over. As Warriors relied heavily on Jacobs, the rest of the batsmen couldn't follow up with the goods and fell way too short in setting up a good total. Ashwin was superb with 2 for 16 in 4 overs while Muralitharan put up an ace show again with 4-0-16-3!

In the run chase, Vijay went onto become the highest run scorer of the tournament surpassing Davey Jacobs, the Skipper of Warriors.
