New Zealand had a disastrous collapse with the bat to fold out in 38.3 overs for 110 on the third day's play after conceding a first innings lead of 92 runs. Pakistan were left with a tiny target of 19 which they achieved in 3.4 overs without any loss.

It was Pakistan who resumed the third day's play at 235 for 4 and were helped to a handy lead thanks to wicket keeper - Adnan Akmal's 44 while he got good support from the bowlers. Pakistan got 367 on the board in their first innings while Brent Arnel did the damage for the Kiwis taking four wickets. The Black Caps seemed to be off to a fine start at 36 for no loss before the dramatic collapse.

Umar Gul, Abdur Rehman and Wahab Riaz took three wickets each for Pakistan. Left arm spinner - Abdur Rehman got the Man of the Match award.
