West Indies’ leading batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul is doubtful to play in the third and final Test at Birmingham because of a side injury. The Third Test which was scheduled to start yesterday was washed out completely on Day 1 because of rain and today, the match is certainly going to be delayed as well.
Chanderpaul had gone to a hospital for a scan yesterday and there is a minute chance that he could still go onto play in the Third Test given the fact that he got a day’s rest because of the rain. West Indies Skipper Darren Sammy has said that either the uncapped Assad Fuaddin or Narsingh Deonarine could take the place of the injured Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
